The 2022 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at the Spring Fling state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our preseason Top 10 in each TSSAA classification and the preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Our team will be providing boots on the ground coverage, scouting games and highlighting the Volunteer State's talent. This season we will be releasing players of the week, updating our classification rankings, and the Power 25. Feel free to give us a follow on Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date on all the latest baseball news.

*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches.

Team Outlook
The Blue Devils put together a solid resume in 2021, finishing towards the top of a deep district and won three games in the tourney. Ultimately, they couldn’t push through to the regions in one of the toughest leagues in the state. They lost some key pieces (SS Carson Boles, 1B Ty Bailey, LHP John Tomlinson, etc.), but returned a solid core for the 2022 slate. Sr. backstop Copeland Bradford (Southwest TN CC commit) will lead the offense and handle the pitching staff, who has physicality and should hit in the meat of the order again. Sr LHP Bryce Fuller (Uncommitted) is the top arm, and he’s shown to be very capable of being competitive and keeping opposing lineups at bay. Jr LHH OF Wyatt Bowling has flashed great speed and will be a key piece defensively in the outfield. Jr RHP Easton Forsyth is a big framed arm, who could be a breakout star for this group. Blue Devils feature five seniors who can plug some holes and provide that veteran presence: RHP Nick Maggart, INF Brody Hays, OF Isaiah Douglas, OF/RHP Brett Bowman, and C Logan Sullivan. Soph RHP/1B Elijah Shreeve has continued to improve his game and 2025 RHP/3B Jordan Jewell has already been up to mid 80s and flashed some pop at the plate.

Lebanon will make the jump to 4A this season as the new alignment has broken up their previous district. Mt. Juliet, Green Hill, and Wilson Central remain from last year plus outsider Cookeville joins the mix. Mt. Juliet and Cookeville both dropped region semifinal matchups last year, and should be contenders coming down the stretch. Lebanon has consistently fielded a competitive group over the years, and once things click they have a chance of making it deeper into postseason play.
