Glass Mosaic Backgrounds in PSP7

This is so super-easy and makes a really elegant background tile for homepages or stationary.

You'll need PSP7, Ulead's Art Texture plugin (free); get it (and lots of great free filters),HERE,  and Simple Filters Pizza Slice Mirror (free); get it HERE.

1.  Open new white background image, 200 X 200.

2.  Apply ArtTexture, (click on the palette ramp edit button to get to the other gradients and choose the gold palette #6),  and then use these settings:

3.  Next go to Effects/Reflection Effects/Kaliedescope and apply these settings:  Sharpen twice.  You can     experiment with these settings to see what other cool effects you can achieve.

4.  Apply Simple filters/Pizza Slice Mirror.  This will also make your tile seamless.

5.  Now go to Effects/Texture Effects/Mosaic Antique and use these settings:

6.  It's a bit dark so we'll lighten it up a bit.  Add a new layer.  Flood fill with white or a light colour.  Change the layer blend mode to soft light in your layer palette, and lower the opacity to around 75.

7.  Merge all layers.  Now you have your seamless glass tile, ready to use for background or stationary in Outlook Express. You can make any precious metals and colours you wish.  I've made one in silver also.

(and here's a wild blue one I made using a different gradient in ArtTexture) (g) The sky's the limit!

I have made this table webpage and other stationaries  based on a technique from KiwiNessie.
