Wrought-Iron
Basket Tree by Angie's Arts
*(or
in this case, "Hat" Tree)*
(* Special thanks to Deebs for her inspiration in creating this tutorial.*) I will show you how
to make all the parts to this tree, but if you'd rather use my tubes, you can get them in
my zip here. I have added some basket tubes you may like as well.
 | First we will make the heart,
and hooks for the rack. Begin with a new image 100 X 100, transparent background.
|
 | On a new layer, using the draw
tool, draw a freehand black line, width of 3, create as a vector, in the shape of a hook.
Don't worry if it isn't quite right, we'll use node editing to fix it :)
|
 | Click on the object selector
tool, then node edit in the tool options. Right click on the bottom of your hook,
choose node type - cusp. Now click on the nodes and use the arrows to shape your
hook the way you'd like. Right click and choose quit node editing.
|
 | Now go to selections/from
vector object. Your hook will now be selected. Right click in the layer
palette on your hook layer, convert to raster. Got to effects/inner bevel, and apply
my wrought iron setting. Save these settings below, naming them "wroughtiron", so you can use them again.
|
 | Merge all visible layers.
Export as picture tube.
|
 | Now, onto the heart.
Open new image, 100 X 100 transparent. Draw a circle using the shapes tool, width of
3 in black, create as vector, antialias checked.
|
 | Now we will edit it the same
as the hook. Use object selector, choose node edit, right click on your circle, node
type symetric, and then right click on it again and choose cusp. Now make a heart
shape. Make the top of your circle flat, then use the arrows to shape the top and
bottom of your heart.
|
 | Go to Selections/create from
vector/right click on the heart layer, convert to raster. Apply the inner bevel
again, and merge visible layers, export as picture tube. Now lets make the pole.
