©KPT Chocolate Bar~(revised April 2003)~
**Warning: This is very addictive but don't worry, I promise you won't gain a pound!** You'll need PSP 7 from www.jasc.com, KPT5 from http://www.corel.com/ or you may find it here: http://www.kptplugin.com and Blade Pro from http://www.flamingpear.com/
D/L my KPT5 and Blade Pro presets and selection by clicking on the golden bar:
Unzip them to your desktop and then move the KPT presets (*.kpt) to your Plugins/KPT5/presets/shapeshifter folder. Be sure to have the cool kitchen env. map in your KPT5/Shapeshifter/presets/environmentmap folder. Place the Blade Pro presets to your Plugin/FlamingPear/BladePro/environments folder. Place the selection to your psp/selection folder. ** Remember to save often (Ctrl S). ** OK let's do it!
2. Keep it selected and invert selection (shift/ctrlI), apply KPT shapeshifter.
3. Load my chocolate preset by clicking the button in the lower left corner as below:
Click OK. Your chocolate bar should look something like this:
4. To do the cracks between the pieces, invert selection again and apply my chocbar setting again in KPT shapeshifter. You will need to lower the setting for the mix environment in the environment window to make all the cracks darker. Click OK> Merge visible layers. You can leave your chocolate plain or add the embossing with next step. Invert selection.
5. Let's emboss the chocolate! We need to make a top mask image. Open a new image the same size, make your text or graphic. You can use a tube or a signature/watermark as I have made. Save it as a jpg. Name and close this file. Make your chocolate bar file active again. It should still be selected. Apply shapeshifter. Browse for your topmask image by clicking on the top mask window for your .jpg file you just made. You can change the colour of the mask by click/hold on the colour square. Move the sliders to adjust however you like and click OK.
6. Now let's wrap up that delicious candy bar! Here's how to make the shiny gold wrapper.
Add a new layer and flood fill with white. This will be layer 2. Select all/ctrl A). Effects/Blade Pro and apply my Blade Pro gold wrapper preset. Click OK. Easy as pie!
7. Onto the outer wrapper. Add a new layer and flood fill again with white. This is layer 3. Select all. Apply my Blade Pro white wrapper preset. Select none (ctrlD).
Now we need to cut off the ends of the white wrapper. Be sure layer 3 is active. Using your selection tool, rectangle, feather 0, antialias checked, start at the coordinates of 0,0 (you'll see them at the bottom left corner in PSP), and select over to 20, 150 (it won't matter if it's selected longer than 150, it will still work). Hit delete. Now move over to the other side at 280,0 and drag your rectangle over to the outer edge. Once again, hit delete. Now we can see that great gold! Select none (ctrlD).
Be sure you're craving.....I mean saving your creation! (ctrlS) 8. Keeping layer 3 active, select all/float to put a light drop shadow on the white wrapper. Effects/3d/drop shadow.
This is fun! You can create your own logo or artwork for the wrapper! Always work on new layers for each item you add. It makes it much esier to delete or change things around as you go. Add your text and drop shadows for lettering the wrapper or leave it plain. Add tubes or graphics!
9. To do the open chocolate bar look, turn off the first layer, (the actual chocolate bar), merge all the other layers, and using your freehand lasso tool, draw a torn line on the right side of your bar. Invert selection (shift/ctrlI). Turn layer 1 back on. Click on delete and you should now have something like this:
Add a drop shadow, if you like to give it more depth.
Be sure to save it as a .psp file and .tub if you would like it as a tube.
I'm craving chocolate now! Gotta run!
That's it! I hope you had fun and learned more about KPT and the power it has :) Please feel free to email me if you have any comments or questions :)
